What are the benefits to keeping a clean car?

As biased as it may be seen, for a detailer to explain why to keep your car clean, I am going to do my best to explain to you the endless amounts of benefits to keeping a clean car and to do so at all times. Paint and trim pieces are vital to the display of the vehicle, especially when it is shiny and truly colorful. Brake dust is the greatest pollutant in vehicle emissions, imagine what it can do to your rims especially when you don’t wash it often. Seats and floor mats are the first components a person will see and smell when they first enter the vehicle. An engine will run colder when it is free and clean of dust and grease. Last but not least, it is easier to clean anything when the mess is fresh than when it has sat for a while.

A paint job is extremely expensive, it is important to take good care of the good one you have rather than investing money into a second one. Keeping the paint and trim pieces clean is important; bird droppings, tree sap, mud and dirt will all dwell deep into the exterior components causing less shine, spotting, chipped paint, and expensive detailing repairs to fix. As stated in your owner’s manual, “Wash regularly and out of direct sunlight,” it truly is as simple as that. Proper upkeep on your paint and trim pieces  is vital to maintain the present perfect shine and for the paint to perform at its best.

The brake pads on your car provide the proper means to stop and go at every traffic light. Not only is it harmful to breathe in brake dust, but allowing it to accumulate directly on your rims will have its own consequence. Every time you step on the brakes the pads press against the rotor causing metal particles to go out into the air and onto your rims. When you let the dust dwell on your rims it will cause expensive repairs at your mechanic shop having to repair brake calipers. Brake dust is inevitable, but being proactive and cleaning them is a must for appearance and performance.

When you’re a passenger in any car the first thing that you will sense when you open the door is the smell. Stepping in you’ll then notice the seats then floor, it is important to keep the environment clean. The bottoms of our shoes will get dirty, our bodies will perspire, grooming the interior as we do ourselves is the best way to be proactive and keep your car quick and easy to clean. The engine bay will always accumulate dust. Every front bumper has air vents, this allows the engine to cool down while you’re driving down the road. The vents allow the dust to accumulate on the engine bay. Component failure is inevitable, but allowing the car to run at a higher temperature than what it is supposed to excessively wears down these components faster.

With all the information here, providing upkeep with regular cleaning to all areas of your vehicle is essential and at the top of your list with routine maintenance. The benefits to keeping a clean car follow performance, the cosmetic appearance, longevity and ease of maintenance. A cleaning routine should be quick, fast and easy but you will spend a lot more time when areas are left untouched for a while.
